So for our decades series last year we traveled back through time until the 1960s - so I decided to go back another decade and put together an entire look based on the fashion, hair and makeup trends of the 50s! What do you think of the finished look?
A big thank you to Kayley Melissa and Gabriela Hernandez for helping us out with our midcentury makeover!

This woman is incredible in the stuff she puts out for the viewers. A culture trip down the history lane with such social analysis shows she is not just a beauty, but a beauty with brains! Alright! (Safiya style)
OMG SAFIYA! YOU AND TYLER NEED TO KEEP THIS LOOK AND GO TO DAPPPER DAY AT DISNEY! Is 1950-60 and 70's inspired day with vendors and stuff. My roommate adores this video and said you should have done this video during drapper day
Do the 30s !!! The casual style of the era is so feminine and simple and rarely explored for the more flashy flapper style. But people often forget about the great depression happening at the time and most people were not flappers. The historical aspect would be cool c:
How fun! The 1950s really suits you. I'm just glad that silhouette is in the past. I remember my mom, who was large, was miserable in those dresses. You weren't really fully dressed without a girdle and stockings, and a hat. More missery when a garter would pop off a stocking, or you got a run in your hose. And imagine all those layers - underwear, girdle, stockings, petticoats, big skirt, gloves, hat - and the heat and humidity of August in the South...with no air conditioning! It was a truly uncomfortable time to be female.
